Peter and Christine Gott, farm here at Sillfield Farm in the Lake District Cumbria.

We have been farming here for over 30 years, beginning with a few acres and constantly investing in extra land and buildings, when the occasion presented itself.

With just over 40 acres of land, 600 feet above sea level, we were limited on what we could produce in order to make a living wage, so by specialising in niche market products made from our un-commercial animals (Rare Breed Pigs, Iron Age pigs, Herdwick sheep and lambs and Lakeland lamb from our own and other farms in the area), we strive to add value, and make good food.
